Alison’s attraction to minerals began with picking up pretty pebbles on the beach as a toddler. Over the years, she graduated to the cabochon polishing of agates to display their inner patterns, and she now has an extensive collection of semi-precious gemstones from around the world.
Fascinated by colour, the lure of polymer clay has proved irresistible. The challenge is to create unique blends of colour and pattern that complement the natural beauty of the stones. Unlimited stripesWith so many possibilities to choose between, Alison's main collection focuses on the design promise of stripes. This apparently simple option is turning out to have huge potential. Just changing a stripe from thick to thin, from straight to curved, or from geometric to organic dramatically alters the character of a piece, even before considering size, shape, colour or the selection of complementary stones.
