Bridget Derc
Bridget is a keen beader who only recently started to create wearable art with Polymer. Having first experimented with Polymer to make a few hand-rolled beads, Bridget left the medium alone until one day she saw a copy of Polymer Clay Inspirations by Lindly Haunani and Maggie Magio. That discovery opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
Bridget joined the London Polymer Clay Group to learn more and attended a couple of all-day workshops led by a group member, Carol Blackburn. Bridget now uses Polymer to create colourful bangles and eye-catching cabochons for her beading projects. These two disciplines work well for Bridget as the material left over from from the Bangle projects can be used to make the Polymer cabochons. Each cabochon is formed by hand, sanded and buffed to give it a shine, and is finally encapsulated by beads. Some of the pendants hang from their own unique beaded ropes, while others can easily be worn with a variety of simple necklaces. |
